Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and it's natural to feel unsure. Knowing what to expect can make it a little easier. Here's what you can expect when we begin working together.
How It Works
1. Book a Free Consultation
We'll start with a brief phone call to see if we're a good fit for each other. You'll share a short overview of what's bringing you in and what you're hoping for, and I'll share a bit about how I work. Together, we'll make sure I'm the right person to support you, and if not, I'm happy to help point you toward someone who is.
2. Your first session
Our first session is about getting comfortable and laying the foundation. We'll take care of paperwork and walk through what to expect, then begin exploring your story, what's happening now, and the changes you'd like to see.
3. ongoing sessions
This is where the real work unfolds. Together, we'll decide how often to meet, whether weekly, every other week, or monthly. Your goals guide our work, and we'll check in along the way to make sure we're moving in the right direction.
Your relationship is worth investing in. Couples therapy is one of the most meaningful investments you can make, not just in your relationship, but in your family and your future together.
Life is too short to spend it feeling disconnected from the person you've chosen to share it with. When you choose to work with me, here's what you can expect:
Dedicated attention: I keep a small caseload so each client receives focused, personalized care
Specialized training in relationships and family systems
Evidence-based approaches tailored to your unique needs and goals
Coordinated care with your other providers, if you'd like, to support your whole-person health
Between session resources like worksheets, exercises, or reading suggestions to keep progress going at home.
Easy online convenience: Scheduling, forms, payments, and secure messaging, all in one place
Fees & Insurance
Individual, couples, or family therapy | $120 | 60 minutes
Each session offers dedicated time to be truly heard, explore the patterns beneath what you’re facing, and practice practical tools for communication and connection, all tailored to your goals.
extended Sessions | $160 | 90 minutes
Extended sessions are available upon request and can be helpful for deeper work, but they aren't scheduled as standard.
Insurance
I do not accept insurance. To bill for services, insurance companies require one person to be identified as the patient and given a mental health diagnosis, which must then be shared with the insurance company. Because of this, most insurance plans don't cover couples or family therapy.
In couples and family work, the relationship itself is my client, not any one person. Private pay allows our work to stay focused on your relationship, without needing to label anyone with a diagnosis, and keeps your information private between us.
cancellation policy
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled or missed with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee. I also understand that life happens, so if something unexpected comes up, please reach out as soon as you can and we'll figure out the best way forward together.
